DESCRIPTION:Geilsland Works\n\n\n\nFrom classroom to career: your journey to employment success \n\n\n\nIntroducing Geilsland Works; a free\, 8-week\, skills and employability programme based at Geilsland Estate\, designed to provide participants with essential skills\, real-world experience\, work-related training\, and various accredited qualifications. Combining 1-1 support and personalised coaching\, this programme aims to boost your confidence and job prospects\, equipping individuals with practical skills in a friendly\, and supportive community environment. \n\n\n\nGeilsland Works covers various essential employability topics\, including but not limited to: \n\n\n\n\nWorkplace Orientation: Introduction to workplace norms and appropriate etiquette\n\n\n\nEmployability Skills: CV building\, interview techniques\, and job search strategies\n\n\n\nPersonal Development: Confidence building\, strengths assessment\, and goal setting.\n\n\n\nVocational Training: Specialised courses like STEPS to excellence and Glasgow University Activate.\n\n\n\nPathways to employment: Exploring training\, study\, and apprenticeship opportunities.\n\n\n\nReal-world Experience: Practical work placements and volunteering in community projects.\n\n\n\nOngoing Support: Personalised approach and mentorship to overcome confidence and employment barriers.\n\n\n\n\nTo ensure that all participants are provided the flexibility to learn and engage easily; we will provide lunches\, childcare and cover travel expenses for those who require it. There are three different options of engagement with this course\, all depending on the level of learning you would like achieve over the 8 weeks. \n\n\n\nGeilsland Works provides participants with access to 2 days per week of learning. With a mix of employability and practical work\, this option is good for those who wish to learn\, but don’t have a lot of time to spare. \n\n\n\nGeilsland Works PLUS provides participants with access to 3 days per week of learning\, and access to our STEPS to excellence course. This course is focused on allowing participants to learn their strengths\, build their confidence\, and understand the strengths they already have that can be translated into employment. \n\n\n\nSTEPS to excellence provides participants with access solely to our STEPS to excellence course for 1 day per week. A great option for those looking for a more low-key learning experience but still aiming to gain skills\, confidence\, and qualifications. \n\n\n\nGeilsland Works is perfect for anyone between the ages of 16 and 67 who is currently not in employment\, education\, or training.
