DESCRIPTION:Introducing our next round of monthly led cycles! Beginning in November we will be running 4 monthly led cycles\, in collaboration with the wonderful Trinity Active Travel Hub\, a free programme aimed at getting people out of the house and engaging with our ongoing e-bike scheme. This course is perfect for beginners who are confident cyclists\, but new to using e-bikes. Leaving from Geilsland Estate we will meander through the Scottish countryside on a lovely\, leisurely cycling experience. Helmets are mandatory and we strongly recommend that individuals wear high-visibility clothing. These sessions are for 18+ years. The sessions will run from 9:30am – 11am on: \n\n\n\n\nSaturday November 11th\n\n\n\nSaturday December 9th\n\n\n\nSaturday January 13th\n\n\n\nSaturday February 10th\n\n\n\n\nIf you’re interested in coming along you must first complete the following health and safety forms. The night will be alive with Ceilidh music and dancing\, featuring live music from the fantastic Binky Blue. Doors open at 6:30pm for a 7pm start\, and we’ll be wrapping up at 10:30pm; plenty of time to grab a taxi!  \n\n\n\nOur fully stocked bar awaits you\, and a dedicated children’s area ensures the little ones have a great time too. Feel free to bring your own snacks for your tables\, or indulge in the delicious offers The Munchy Van will be bringing along! DESCRIPTION:Free safeguarding course coming to Geilsland! \n\n\n\nWe all have a responsibility to help keep children\, young people\, and vulnerable adults safe in our community. Beith Community Development Trust understands that many people in local communities worry from time to time about potential abuse\, harm\, or exploitation of someone in the local area. It can be confusing to understand as it is not always easy to know exactly what to do when you do see or hear something of concern. \n\n\n\nOrganisations like Beith Trust\, which consistently work with children\, young people and adults\, must ensure that they have safeguarding policies and procedures in place and be able to respond to child or adult protection concerns. It is important to us that we offer an opportunity to adults (16yrs +) at the heart of our local communities and ensure those who take part learn foundation skills that increase confidence in responding to\, or in reporting a concern. This free evening session will be held at Geilsland Estate in Beith and delivered by Caron McLean\, former Head of Protection at the University of Strathclyde.  \n\n\n\nCaron McLean \n\n\n\nCaron lived in Beith for over 40 years and left school to help in her parent’s garage (Gerrie’s) before graduating and spending many years carrying out child and adult protection work in local authority areas across Scotland. Caren brings a wealth of knowledge and experience and will take time to work through the issues that worry you the most about children or adults who may have been harmed or are at risk. Caren will provide guidance on what we can all do to help and will work with you to answer questions like “Can a child can be left home alone?”\, or “How would you know if an adult is being neglected or abused?”. \n\n\n\nTimes\, dates and bookings \n\n\n\nThe session is set in a relaxed\, informal style for learning that welcomes all. By the end of the session\, everyone who comes along will have strengthened existing skills or will\, for the first time\, know how they can help to get it right in protecting people in the place we all live or work. \n\n\n\nWho should Attend: \n\n\n\n\nParents and caregivers\n\n\n\nEducators and school staff\n\n\n\nCommunity leaders and volunteers\n\n\n\nAnyone who works with children or vulnerable adults\n\n\n\nAnyone interested in learning safeguarding techniques\n\n\n\n\nRegistration and attendance are completely free and we’ll have teas and coffees available throughout the evening. DESCRIPTION:Band Factory is making its triumphant return in 2024! Our most anticipated music experience of the year is back\, and we’re thrilled to invite you to a week-long musical extravaganza from Monday\, April 1st\, to Friday\, April 5th\, running daily from 11 am to 4 pm. \n\n\n\nCurious about whether Band Factory is the perfect fit for you? If you’re a young person aged 12 to 18 who can play any instrument (yes\, even bagpipes!)\, then you’re exactly who we’re looking for! Starting on Monday\, April 1st\, you’ll be welcomed by our team and the fantastic Pryde Kilwinning\, who will be your mentor throughout the week. Following introductions\, your bands will be formed\, and the next couple of days will be spent crafting your setlist\, practising\, and jamming with your newfound musical companions. The grand finale awaits at our showcase event on Friday\, April 5th\, where you’ll perform the set you’ve worked hard on throughout the week. \n\n\n\nThis is a fantastic opportunity for young musicians to not only showcase their talents before a live audience but also to forge connections with like-minded peers. Who knows\, you might even become a part of Garnock Valley’s next big band! Many successful musicians and bands have emerged from our Band Factory project\, and you could be the next success story. Don’t miss out—secure your tickets now! Limited spaces are available\, so we recommend booking as soon as possible. The full week of activities is just £20 per person. \n\n\n\nJam sessions will run daily from 11am to 4pm\, and the showcase event is scheduled for Friday\, April 5th (exact time to be confirmed). Remember to bring a packed lunch for your jam sessions or\, if you prefer\, grab a bite at Mocha Jaks. \n\n\n\nWe’ll be capturing the magic of both the jam sessions and the showcase performance with regular photos and videos. If your child has attended an Easter or Summer camp prior to this one\, you will have already signed up on Upshot. Each day has it’s own ticket\, and we ask you only purchase tickets on days you will need as these are non refundable. We understand it may be frustrating that we are charging this time around\, but we unfortunately were unable to acquire funding this year.As a charity dedicated to providing enriching activities\, we rely on funding to sustain our activities and allow them to be free for our attendees. Despite our best efforts in seeking support this year\, unfortunately\, we did not receive the necessary funding. However\, we remain committed to offering our summer camp experience\, which necessitates covering costs such as staff wages and equipment expenses. Your understanding and support are immensely appreciated as we continue our mission of fostering positive experiences for all participants.We understand that\, especially in the current climate\, not all families can spare this vital money. That’s why we’re pleased to offer a limited number of bursary places specifically for children residing in the KA15 postcode area. Participants can enjoy a wide range of activities from music tuition to arts and crafts activities\, to sports games and guest performances!  \n\n\n\nEach day\, the children will receive instruction in either the chanter or drums from our skilled tutors\, making it an ideal opportunity for both beginners and those with more experience to improve their skills. In addition to the musical tuition\, a variety of engaging activities are planned\, including football\, sports games\, special guest performances\, and arts and crafts. \n\n\n\nAn added bonus for the participants is the chance to join the National Playday event at Geilsland for free on Wednesday\, 7th August\, which is the programme’s off day. DESCRIPTION:Join us for our upcoming series of Summer Evening Led Cycle Rides\, perfect for enjoying the long evenings and beautiful countryside. Our next rides are scheduled for: \n\n\n\n\nThursday 8th August\n\n\n\nThursday 22nd August\n\n\n\n\nWe’ll meet at 6:15pm to get our bikes ready and set off promptly at 6:30pm from Geilsland Estate car park. Each ride will last between 1 and 2 hours\, depending on the weather and the preferences of the participants. Our routes primarily follow quiet country roads\, with very short sections on busier roads. \n\n\n\nPlease note that participation is limited to 5 people per ride\, so be sure to secure your free ticket early to secure your space. These rides are organised in collaboration with the Ride 63 groups\, continuing our effort to promote active travel and community engagement. \n\n\n\nImportant details: \n\n\n\n\nHelmets are mandatory.\n\n\n\nHigh-visibility clothing is strongly recommended.\n\n\n\nThese sessions are for adults aged 18 and over.\n\n\n\nPlease ensure you’ve completed your Essential Cycling Confidence form here and registered with Beith Trust here (if you’ve previously signed up with Beith Trust you don’t need to do this again!)\n\n\n\n\nWe look forward to seeing you there and enjoying some wonderful evening cycles together!
