News & Updates

Summer is here and alongside it, we have our usual roster of summer activities at Geilsland Estate and Beith Astro!

We’ve had loads going on recently at Beith Astro; from our ongoing nature play and fun family Fridays to our recently re-imagined free food Fridays which have moved to a bigger location at Beith Community Centre. At Geilsland Estate we’re just coming off the back of our St Innan’s day celebration and summer planning and getting ready to jump straight into the summer activities! Keep an eye on our social media feeds for updates on our summer events, programmes, and activities for the whole family.

Recently we’ve taken an exciting step in beginning a working partnership with the Garnock Valley Pipes and Drums, and we can’t wait to begin working on various exciting new events and projects in collaboration with them and their fantastic members.

Keep an eye on our events page for more details and tickets!

Geilsland Estate

It’s been a busy few months at Geilsland Estate! We’ve just finished up one of our favourite events of the year; Beith Beer Hall, and we’d like to thank everyone who made it out despite the less-than-pleasurable weather! We had a blast enjoying wonderful beers from Dargavel Brewery, & Mosaik, fizz and ciders from Fizz Buz and Thistly Cross Cider and we hope you did too. Straight from then there was no time to waste as it was on to planning for the summer! We’ve got so much in store for summer 2023; including but not limited to; a sculpture treasure trail, open mic night, haybale naze, national playday, and even more!

Beith Astro

Beith Astro continues to be a fantastic hub for families and football! As we finished up our second annual Beith Asto easter camp, we immediately began planning for our summer camp! Summer camp is a fabulous opportunity for parents and carers to have peace of mind that their little ones are being well looked after, engaged with creatively and provided with as much fun as possible during the summer holidays. As always, the Astro is always looking for new volunteers with new ideas, passions and skills to help transform the space into the best it possibly can be. If you think you’d be a good fit you can enquire here.

Sculpture Trail Competition

Our annual sculpture trail event is happening again this year! Primary and Secondary schools from all across North Ayrshire were invited to enter our sculpture competition; with this year’s theme being Climate Change and its effect on us and our planet. As usual, we’ll have our line-up of summer activities based around this trail, with the first being our annual treasure hunt!

On July 14th, from 12pm – 2pm, we invite you to come along and find the hidden sculptures all around Geilsland Estate by using a treasure map. If you find all the sculptures successfully you’ll win a prize!

Workshops and Volunteering

At Beith Trust, volunteering is our bread and butter. We wouldn’t be the organisation we are if it weren’t for the continuous support and hard work of our volunteers. From tending and caring for our beautiful grounds and gardens, to working with our attendees at our various projects and events, our volunteers are multi-skilled and in return receive free admission to many of our events, free certified training and access to new qualifications.

We’re always looking for volunteers, young and old, to join us in steering forward new events and projects in the new year. This could be through our Lend an Ear befriending project, volunteering in our gardens, or events assistance. You can volunteer with Beith Trust by completing the form below.
