Beith Beer Hall is back once again! Join us on Saturday, April 29th for a day of fun, beer, and live music! We’ll have some familiar faces popping by; with the wonderful Fizzbuz attending with their prosecco and spirits bar, and everyone’s favourite Thistly Cross Cider. Along with this we’ll have our usual new host of beers, ales, and IPA’s from local brewers there will be something for everyone to enjoy. We’ll also have our usual amazing lineup of local bands and singers to get you up on the dancefloor (dad dancing is ~~welcome~~ necessary). This event, as always, is dog and child friendly; with a dedicated kid’s corner available with toys, activities and dress-up games for the little ones to enjoy! No need for a babysitter! Tickets for our April Beith Beer hall are priced as:

3 Week Beginner’s Cycling Course

This beginner’s cycling course, running for 3 weeks, is aimed at individuals new to cycling, those that haven’t been on a bike for a while or for individuals looking to build confidence in certain aspects of their cycling or maintenance. Our instructor is on hand to tailor the session to your needs. You can choose to register for one or all three of them, the choice is yours. Places are limited so please register now to avoid disappointment. Participants should bring their own bike with them to use, but if they don’t have their own have a few bikes we are able to loan out. Please let us know in advance if you need one.

On Bike Skills – 19^th March between 10:00am and 12:00pm

In a safe environment away from traffic and obstacles learn how to go on a bike, use gears correctly, use your brakes with confidence, and steer with ease amongst many other bike skills.

Basic Bike Maintenance – 26^th March between 10:00am and 12:00pm

Learn how to take the back wheel off, fix a puncture, perform a simple bike check, and perform many other maintenance skills.

Maintenance/Led Cycle – 2^nd April between 10:00am and 12:00pm

A brief session on essential maintenance followed by a leisurely cycle in the nearby area.

This course is aimed at those over 8 years old and anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. We also strongly advise that all attendees wear a helmet when cycling for their own safety and try to wear high-visibility clothing. If you haven’t already, please ensure you sign up with Beith Trust before you attend this event and complete the safety confirmation form. Happy cycling!

Drum lessons are back!

Did you get a drum kit for Christmas? Looking to further your drumming skills, or are you just looking to learn a new skill? Then our drum lessons are for you! We’re offering a 4-week course of drum lessons for young people in North Ayrshire, ages 6 – 18, for only £15! We’ll provide all the equipment you’ll need; you just need to show up and learn. We’ll cover all the basics of a drum kit and how to properly use one while making some beautiful music. The sessions will run as follows:

Session One: 4pm – 4:30pm

Session Two: 4:30pm – 5pm

Each session will take place in Geilsland Estate Studio every Monday from February 6th. If you’re interested make sure you get your 4-week ticket below!

Band factory is back! Our biggest and best music event of the year is back for round two of 2022. Beginning on Monday, October 17th, we’re inviting you along to a week-long, unforgettable, musical experience that’s suitable for any style of musician.

Wondering if band factory is for you? If you’re a young person, between the ages of 12 and 18, and you can play an instrument (any instrument at all; we’ve even had bagpipe players before!) then you’re the perfect fit. Beginning on Monday October 17th, you’ll first be introduced to our team, and the wonderful Pryde Kilwinning who will be mentoring you across the week, and then your bands will be formed. From there you’ll spend the next couple of days deciding on your setlist, practising and having a jam with your new band. To celebrate and showcase your hard work and practise; at the end of the week you’ll be playing a set at our Beer Hall mainstage!

It’s a great opportunity for young musicians. Not only to showcase their talents and perform infront of a live audience; but also to make some musically minded friends. Or maybe even be part of the Garnock Valley’s next biggest band! We’ve seen many successful musicians and bands come through our band factory project; and you could be next. So what are you waiting for? Get your tickets now! Spaces are limited so to avoid disappointment we advice you book in as soon as you can. The full weeks worth of activities is only £20 per person.

Jam sessions will run from 10am – 3pm and the gig will take place on Saturday 22nd October, time TBC. Bring a packed lunch for your jam sessions (or pop into Mocha Jaks if you fancy).

We’ll be taking regular photos and videos of both the jam sessions and the gig performance. Please let us know well in advance if you wish to not be photographed or filmed. We also have spare equipment available if you would like to partake but don’t have an instrument of your own. However; these are limited and we ask that you have a basic level of experience of playing the instrument.

‘Is Business as usual’ creating services, places and real benefits for communities? Can we make better use of what we have? Shifting how we use physical, social and financial resources to generate a deeper ‘local wealth’; to creat amazing places for people to live and work simultaneously putting money back in local pockets.

Join us for a discussion at Geilsland Estate on the 29th September 2022, 10.30am – 1.30pm with;

Dr Micaela Mazzei; Senior Lecturer at the Yunus Centre for Social Business and Health, Glasgow Caledonian University. Micaela will discuss Community Wealth Building. Particularly thinking about how community can design and shape the services and places we use everyday and equally important move money in local pockets.
Lee Ivett; Head of the Grenfell-Baines Institute of Architecture, University of Lancashire. Lee Ivett is an award winning architect, designer, artist and urbanist with a equally impressive track record of developing transformational long term projects with third sector organizations. Developing low-budget socially-focused projects from scratch as a means of identifying ideas and developing local agency and capacity and consequently generating activity that ultimately creates a demand for the social, cultural, economic and environmental re-imagination of place. His expertise and guidance has shaped the work of Beith Trust from the outset.

Geilsland into the future. It's been 7 years since the community buy out of Geilsland Estate. It's a good time now to think about the future and make sure what we do now helps our community to thrive in the future. We need your ideas, perspectives, opinions and experiences to shape how Geilsland Estate will benefit our community for the next 50 years. 3rd August & 18th August 11am - 3pm. Geilsland Estate.

Geilsland Country Estate is celebrating the seventh anniversary of it’s community buy out! When the community buy out of Geilsland took place, the aim was clear; for Geilsland to be repositioned as a ‘Gateway to North Ayrshire’. A community asset which would entice visitors and tourists to stop for a moment and linger in Geilsland, Beith, and the wider Garnock Valley. We wanted people to spend their time, energy, and money in our local community to benefit not just them but also our local business owners, local community groups, and our overall community. To promote this, Geilsland has established itself as a local hub for local activities, classes, events, and opportunities for learning and growth. Bringing these opportunities to life has, and will continue, to create an environment which fosters financial, social, and cultural growth for the Garnock Valley.

The North Ayrshire community has continuously supported us across the years, and as such we want to involve you as much as possible as we work on our progress. Now; we’re looking to Geilsland Country Estate’s Future. We want to think a bit further ahead about how Geilsland Estate can support our community to thrive in a future affected by increasing economic inequality, a changing demographic, the effects of climate change and migration.

Therefore, we’re asking for your help. We want to hear your thoughts, your ideas, and your opinions on just what would take Geilsland to the next level in the future. Help us to continue supporting our local community in very uncertain economic, socio-political and environmental times. Join us at Geilsland on Wednesday August 13th or Saturday August 13th from 11am – 3pm to share your thoughts with us and have your voice heard on Geilsland Country Estate’s Future; the gateway to North Ayrshire.
