Welcome to our Summer Camp 2025 – where every day is an opportunity for your child to explore, create, and make unforgettable memories! From Monday, June 30th to Friday, August 1st, we invite children aged 5 – 12 to join us on a journey filled with sports, art, nature, movies, and music.
Our annual Summer camp is designed to allow your children to explore various activities, games, and interests in a safe and nurturing environment. Whether they’re scoring in the Astro, unleashing their creativity through arts and crafts projects, diving into movie magic, or belting out their favourite tunes, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
To ensure your child doesn’t miss out on the fun, ensure their spot is secured by registering with us on Upshot (if you have already completed this form for another Camp, you don’t need to do this again) and purchase your tickets for your chosen dates below. Each day has it’s own ticket, and we ask you only purchse tickets on days that you are planning to attend. We understand it may be frustrating that we are charging this time around, but we unfortunately were unable to acquire funding this year.
As a charity dedicated to providing enriching activities, we rely on funding to sustain our activities and allow them to be free for our attendees. Despite our best efforts in seeking support this year, unfortunately, we did not receive the necessary funding. However, we remain committed to offering our summer camp experience, which necessitates covering costs such as staff wages and equipment expenses. Your understanding and support are immensely appreciated as we continue our mission of fostering positive experiences for all participants.
We understand that, especially in the current climate, not all families can spare this vital money. That’s why we’re pleased to offer a limited number of bursary places specifically for children residing in the KA15 postcode area. If you believe your child would benefit from our camp but struggles with the associated costs, we encourage you to apply for a funded spot using the provided form.
We cannot guarantee that everyone who applies will receive the bursary, but we will try our best to ensure everyone has a fair opportunity.
At our summer camp, every child is valued, every moment is cherished, and every experience is crafted to inspire. We can’t wait to see you back for another summer of fun!
Managing Distressed Behaviour with Trauma-Informed Practice
This 2-and-a-half to 3-hour session, led by the Scottish Out of School Care Network, explores how trauma-informed practice can support the management of distressed behaviour in children, particularly those affected by adverse childhood experiences (ACEs). Delivered in person or online (via platforms such as Zoom), the session provides a comprehensive overview of the impact of early trauma on brain development, stress response, and behaviour. Participants will develop an understanding of trauma and its effects, and consider how to respond effectively and compassionately using trauma-informed approaches.
Key topics include:
The difference between manageable and toxic stress
ACEs, the 3 Es of trauma, and common trauma responses
How trauma affects brain development, emotions, and behaviour
Understanding behaviour as communication and the role of consequences
Proactive strategies to prevent distressed behaviour
The Regulate, Relate, Reason, Restore approach to support children effectively
Ideal for professionals working with children, this training provides practical tools and insights to help create safe, supportive environments that foster positive behavioural outcomes.

Cheers for Volunteers – Beith Trust Volunteer Awards Night🪩🥂🎄
This year’s Volunteer Awards Night & Christmas Party will be on Wednesday, December 18th at Geilsland Estate and everyone is welcome to come along. Volunteers are the backbone of Beith Trust, and the majority of our projects couldn’t happen without the hard work of our volunteer teams. Cheers for Volunteers is to celebrate their hard work and recognise their accomplishments across 2024✨🙌
Whether you’re a long-standing volunteer, a one-off volunteer, or are completely new to volunteering you’re welcome to come along and enjoy the festivities and learn more about Beith Trust. We’ll provide a welcome drink, light refreshments, live music, and a Christmas party to round off the evening🎄🥂
We all have a responsibility to help keep children, young people, and vulnerable adults safe in our community. Beith Community Development Trust understands that many people in local communities worry from time to time about potential abuse, harm, or exploitation of someone in the local area. It can be confusing to understand as it is not always easy to know exactly what to do when you do see or hear something of concern.
Organisations like Beith Trust, which consistently work with children, young people and adults, must ensure that they have safeguarding policies and procedures in place and be able to respond to child or adult protection concerns. It is important to us that we offer an opportunity to adults (16yrs +) at the heart of our local communities and ensure those who take part learn foundation skills that increase confidence in responding to, or in reporting a concern. This free evening session will be held at Geilsland Estate in Beith and delivered by Caron McLean, former Head of Protection at the University of Strathclyde.
Caron McLean
Caron lived in Beith for over 40 years and left school to help in her parent’s garage (Gerrie’s) before graduating and spending many years carrying out child and adult protection work in local authority areas across Scotland. Caren brings a wealth of knowledge and experience and will take time to work through the issues that worry you the most about children or adults who may have been harmed or are at risk. Caren will provide guidance on what we can all do to help and will work with you to answer questions like “Can a child can be left home alone?”, or “How would you know if an adult is being neglected or abused?”.
Times, dates and bookings
The session is set in a relaxed, informal style for learning that welcomes all. By the end of the session, everyone who comes along will have strengthened existing skills or will, for the first time, know how they can help to get it right in protecting people in the place we all live or work.
Who should Attend:
Parents and caregivers
Educators and school staff
Community leaders and volunteers
Anyone who works with children or vulnerable adults
Anyone interested in learning safeguarding techniques
Registration and attendance are completely free and we’ll have teas and coffees available throughout the evening. Register your spot on this course by completing the ticket registration below!
